Armored Saint had the honor and pleasure of recording “Our Best Record” to date “La Raza”, at Tranzformer Studios, in Burbank, Ca. I had so much fun not only laying down the best performance of my life, on the drums, I also was allowed to use my mobile photography studio gear and set up there taking amazing shots of the making of Armored Saint “La Raza” which you will be able to see the art/images soon. I dedicate my performance to My late father Jesus Sandoval Ramos, RIP, David Prichard, Dimebag Darrel, John Bonham, Cliff Burton, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and my friends Rone Bear Avila, and Andy Waterlond… all family, friends and fellow musicians that have moved on to the next level of existence in Heaven! Happy Birthday to my Brother Phil Sandoval!!!!

The Sandovals’ are Back !!! Well, After 1 year and 4 months since our dad has passed away … we gathered our energies and thru a gala event for our brother Phil Sandoval at the Sandoval Homestead! …This is big for us in the healing process. Enjoy these images… it was full of laughter, musical fun, delicious food and more. Provided by Monica (cheese and chicken enchiladas)… we had Master Chef Maria del Carmen Sandoval make her unforgettable Mexican rice, Our Lovely Sister Marie Smith and brother in law Eddie graced us with thier presence along with thier amazing family,”The Smiths”… They also brought delicious refried beans… I my self contributed with the Hottest Salsa in the world (Monster “g” Salsa) inspired by our ancestors the Aztec Warriors from the past. I made the world famous, soon to be in a book … Master Chef Maria del Carmen Sandoval Guacamole (with the help of my seesto Carmen lou)… that is right, that is the official name. I also bought some of the drinks along with our seesto Marie Smith. We ate, sang, played music, played drums and danced till after 1:30 in the morning… I thank my mom for lasting as long as she did …(till after midnight… yay!) …lol We all had a great time and created new beautiful memories…. btw my nieces can sing…way to go Francesca (heading the singing Smiths), Isabella, Katharina Loulou, David and Chcho got in the mix as well… oh and i can’t forget Neco, we did duets …not bad either…lol! … Phil played the Star Spangle Banner ala Jimi Hendrix thru his New Fender Boutique like amp… Coco showed up with her Michel Jackson look …Yeaaaahhh! Thank You to our friends for showing up to the gala event: Danny, Alex, Ronnie Gonzalez & Our dear friends of the family Neco and Adam …they Rock … Enjoy, leave comments on any of the posts if you wish( i encourage it ). Jazz Camp 2009~ Once again, life changing!

Hi , I just wanted to share my amazement of the magic that happens every year at Jazzcampwest.com

It is awesome, the people are so nice and they provide a nest for nourturing the perfomance based camp…

I danced in the Salsa performance, I played in the Blues Band performance, and I sang in the Gospel Choir performance.

I also played for the first time ever with my brother Phil, and my sister Rosaura…( check out rosaurasandoval.com she is also a tremendous photographer, whom dances and sings beautifully) on stage, together we did a Brazilian version of “The Girl from Epinema.” My seesto Rosaura sang it in Portuguese.. amazing!

In addition, I did 4 open mics in total, and definitely treaded on uncharted waters as I played Bosanova grooves on the shaker, and gave it a go on the drums. I survived and I am determined to nail down the Bosanova groove, the Samba groove and the Songo Groove… I wish to play these grooves fluently by next years Jazz camp 2010, June 19 ~ 26…come on out and join me …all levels are welcomed from beginer to advanced …

I finally learned how to play the Brazilian Pandero …my teacher Ami M. was amazing, kind and stern …all needed to really learn it welll…practising I will be!

With all my love, I send out great vibes to all the 300 people whom attended this years Jazz Camp. See you all next year and for all the people whom will be there for the first time…. You too will feel the magic of Jazzcampwest.com!
